Posted by Dion D williams on September 8, 2010 at 8:26 pmHEY HEY
Very happy with the cells,
has anyone used one with a generator?
would like to know a bit about that could be very useful.
Thanks DionD

Hi Dion,
I have heard people try and did not succeed with Air-cooled generators. The ideal motor for a moe-joe cell or a joe cell would be a 4-stroke, water-cooled, and aluminum head and block, ideally.
Sorry it took so long to respond.

Hey cool thanks this could be interesting.
i still need to dip the cells to get em nice and shiny! its been hard to find the acid for the job. i found a friend who has a custom bike shop who has been a lot of help getting phosphoric acid.
if you have any other ways in mind let me know 😉
all the best

hi Dion.
Phosphoric acid does not polish the steel of the cells.
What it does is \”passivates\” them, which means it restores the corrosion resistance of the steel.in order to polish, the best method is electropolishing.
I see you live in the UK. There may be electropolishing shops there. If not, you can use a Drill press, or a lathe, and spin the steel / spheres and use fine sand paper, and then go to finer and finer grit. you can get a decent polish like that.Cheers!

How about replacing the coolant in the engine with treated water?
I read somewhere that treated water will not freeze until -30Celius. -

I read somewhere that treated water will not freeze until -30Celius.The water won\’t freeze at the regular temperature. it will freeze colder. but i don\’t think as low as -30oC. that is pushing it. maybe -5oC and POSSIBLY, -10oC – depending on HOW charged the water is.
the idea is a good idea to replace the coolant with charged water. it is along the lines of what Robert Hull does with the Hull effect, which also involces placing a wire from the cell into the engine oil.
I will place a post up soon about how to do that.
